My artistic practice is deeply rooted in the intersection of sewn craft traditions and the narrative of contemporary political discourse. I find profound resonance in the meticulous handiwork inherent in these traditions, whether executed with the precision of a sewing machine or the intimacy of hand stitching. As I navigate through the complexities of our current socio-political landscape, I find myself increasingly drawn to exploring themes such as gun violence, the refugee crisis, and women's reproductive rights through the use of diverse materials and techniques, including digital fabrication. These explorations serve as a means to deepen my engagement with these critical issues. Central to my artistic expression is the use of found images, text and symbols, which serve as meaningful signs guiding viewers through a narrative that seeks to inform, provoke, and encourage contemplation. Through my work, I aim to foster dialogue and reflection on the pressing challenges confronting our society.
